How to Heal You Inner Child

03/10/2024

Hello Beautiful Human,

Sending you a massive hug today x

Following on from my previous blog post, I really wanted to go deeper into healing low self-worth and low self-love. These feelings often stem from past experiences, where hurtful words or actions from others left us questioning our value. The journey to reclaiming your worth starts by nurturing your inner child—the part of you that still carries the pain of those moments.

Imagine being ten years old and hearing your brother say, “Mom and Dad didn’t love you. They never wanted you.” It cuts deep, especially if you’ve sensed their distance lately. Maybe they were overwhelmed, balancing work and life, but to your young heart, it felt like rejection. You start gathering evidence to support this belief: your mom talking over you at a party, your dad saying he needed a weekend away, and asking you to do chores instead of spending quality time with you. You become an overachiever, striving for their love and trust, thinking you have to earn it.

This cycle can carry into adulthood, leading you to attract relationships where you feel you must “make” someone love you or constantly prove your worth.

When I talk about self-love, it’s about revisiting these childhood situations and showering that inner child with all the love they deserve. You know better than anyone what they need. True self-love is acknowledging and witnessing the wounds you carry, being the nurturing parent to your younger self. It’s not about judgment; it’s about loving the heck out of that cute kid version of you.

Healing takes time, but as you choose to shower your inner child with love, you can break free from those old beliefs and cultivate a profound sense of self-worth. You are worthy of love, always.

I Love You,
Em x

Hi, I'm Emma Ritchie

For years, I struggled with low self-worth, self-doubt, and a deep disconnection from who I truly was. I wore the mask, played the roles, and did what I thought I should do—but inside, I felt lost. It wasn’t until I turned inward and began healing the relationship I had with myself that everything changed.

Real transformation starts when you work at the level of your energy, emotions, and mind—because only then can your behaviours shift and your outer world reflect your inner truth.

Today, my greatest passion is helping others do the same. I support people to integrate all parts of themselves—the light, the shadow, the wounds, the wisdom—and to dissolve the layers of judgement, shame, and not-enoughness that keep them small.

When you shift how you relate to yourself, everything begins to align.
You step into confidence, clarity, and calm—inside and out.
You stop waiting for permission and start creating the life you were born to live.
You call back your power.
You remember who you truly are.
