How To Heal From Heartbreak

17/07/2025

Let’s talk about heartbreak.

I mean real heartbreak. The kind that punches you in the chest when you least expect it. The kind that messes with your sleep, your appetite, your sense of who you even are. The kind where it’s not just them you’re letting go of — it’s the whole damn dream. The future you planned. The cosy Sundays. The kids. The inside jokes. The version of yourself you thought you were becoming with them.

That’s the part no one really talks about. The death of the vision.

And let me be honest — that death nearly took me out.

But here’s what I’ve learned (the hard, messy, beautifully honest way):
You don’t die. The old vision dies. And in that destruction? There’s power. There’s clarity. There’s a Phoenix in you just waiting to rise from those ashes.

Here’s what helped me climb out of the heartbreak pit and come home to myself — energetically, spiritually, physically:

Grieve it. All of it.
Don’t downplay it. Don’t distract yourself with “positive vibes only.”
Cry. Rage. Mourn the loss of what could’ve been. Let your heart feel it all. I promise — grief is a portal. Walk through it, don’t avoid it. to suppress the feelings you expereicne in a heart break is to deny that you are human. there’s no shame in a relationship ending so don’t shame yourself by pushing down feelings that 100% deserve to be felt.

You don’t have to do this alone.
This isn’t a solo mission. Let your people love you. Call a friend and ugly cry on their couch. Find the ones who won’t try to fix it — they’ll just hold you. That kind of love is medicine.

Take care of your basics like it’s a full-time job.
Hydrate. Sleep. Walk. Eat food that actually nourishes you. Your nervous system is fried. Ground yourself in the little things — they’ll bring you back to your body, and your body is where the healing happens.

Clear the old energy ASAP
I wish someone had told me this sooner. I spent months thinking about them, dreaming about them, feeling tied up in knots.
Turns out? I still had energetic cords tangled in my field.

When I finally worked with someone to cut those ties and call my energy back — it was like I could breathe again. Like my soul had space. Honestly, it changed everything.
If you’re ready — find someone who gets energy clearing. It will save you so much time and suffering.

Let the fire do its thing.
Yes, something is dying. But what’s being born? You. A deeper, truer, freer version of you. Let it happen. Let the old patterns burn. Let the old stories fall away.

You’re not broken — you’re being rebuilt.

Heartbreak sucks. Full stop. But it’s also this wild, sacred invitation to return to yourself in a way nothing else quite touches. So be gentle. Be fierce. Let yourself crumble… and then, my love, rise.

You’ve got this. I’m right here with you.

Big love,
Em x

Hi, I'm Emma Ritchie

For years, I struggled with low self-worth, self-doubt, and a deep disconnection from who I truly was. I wore the mask, played the roles, and did what I thought I should do—but inside, I felt lost. It wasn’t until I turned inward and began healing the relationship I had with myself that everything changed.

Real transformation starts when you work at the level of your energy, emotions, and mind—because only then can your behaviours shift and your outer world reflect your inner truth.

Today, my greatest passion is helping others do the same. I support people to integrate all parts of themselves—the light, the shadow, the wounds, the wisdom—and to dissolve the layers of judgement, shame, and not-enoughness that keep them small.

When you shift how you relate to yourself, everything begins to align.
You step into confidence, clarity, and calm—inside and out.
You stop waiting for permission and start creating the life you were born to live.
You call back your power.
You remember who you truly are.
