When weeks like this happen, I have a few physical and mental go—to resets that bring me back to myself.
Sometimes in the thick of it all it feels hard to pull yourself away …Just.One. More. Email but the truth is the best thing we can do for ourselves is pull ourselves away and take a well earned mental break.
Physically, I find a simple walk works wonders, dancing to my favourite songs in my living room, cold showers can be an instant reset or jumping in the local rock pool.
Stepping away from devices, emails, and notifications and reconnecting with something tangible—nature, movement, or even a good book—creates space for my mind to slow down and my body to relax.
Because here’s the thing: We are so much more than what we do.
In a world that constantly pushes us to hustle and achieve, it’s easy to forget that our worth isn’t measured by our productivity.
When we give ourselves permission to pause, to breathe, and to just be, we create space for the parts of us that get buried beneath the busyness—the creative, curious, and joyful parts that make us who we truly are.
So,, I invite you to find your own reset. Whether it’s a walk, a swim, or simply a moment of stillness, know that taking time to switch off isn’t selfish—it’s essential.
Take a break for you and the people you love – you will never regret taking time out for a breather
